IndyCar 2016: Penske Domination and Surprise Indy 500 Winner
- Review of the 2016 Verizon IndyCar Series, dominated by Simon Pagenaud of Team Penske, yet Alexander Rossi surprisingly winning the 100th Running of the Indianapolis 500 for Andretti Herta Autosport.
- Porsche won at Le Mans as Toyota came five minutes short from its first victory of the 24 Hours.
- Unusually for an American driver, Alexander Rossi had his career ambitions in Formula One and spend years in European feeder series. Yet as was left without a seat in F1, he headed to America and won the Indianapolis 500 at his first attempt.
- One of my first tasks on VAVEL USA was to cover the Total 24 Hours of Spa. It was a special race for a Finn to follow; Markus Palttala became the first Finn to win the sportscar endurance classic at Spa.
